BIT – HARITA RESEARCH CENTER on

“New Product Development and Manufacturing Technology”

          As per the MoU signed Harita Techserv Ltd, Chennai will create avenues for students to be industry - ready; Expose students to CAD-CAM-CAE-PLM-ANALYSIS conceptually and to relevant software tools to enhance their skills; Bridge the gap between industry requirements and skills taught in academic course and Groom engineers who are highly conversant with Design processes involving need-finding, ethnographic field work, rapid prototyping and testing. A Research Center will be set with an outlay of Rupees 74 Lakhs will be established by the Management of BIT with the required infrastructure, workstations and the recommended software to enable the faculty and student researchers to learn and conduct research on the latest technologies. In addition, Harita will bring in live projects, products, design and research activities to be executed by the research faculty and student researchers.

"BIT - MECH DESIGN TEAM"

        It is pleasure to inform that, Department of Mechanical Engineering formulate a Design Team which is comprising team of students and faculty members. The Prime aim of this team is to assist the Students/Faculty members for their Project/Research work 2D/3D Drawing.

 

Objectives of the Design Team

​

• 3D Modeling of Innovative / New products with required orthographic / isometric drawing outputs.
   

• Preparation of mechanism / product animation / simulation.

​

• Students’ participation in the International / National level design competitions.

​

• New product developments with the aid of 3D printers.
